Instructions

Step 1. Prepare the Chicken:

  • Remove any giblets from inside the chicken.
  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels (this helps the skin get crispy).

Step 2. Season:

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil or butter with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.
  • Rub the seasoning mix all over the chicken, outside and under the skin if possible.
  • Optional: Place lemon halves and garlic cloves inside the chicken for extra flavor.

Step 3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for 3–5 minutes.

Step 4. Air Fry the Chicken:

  • Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the breast side up and cook for another 25–30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.

Step 5. Rest and Serve:

  • Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving. This keeps it juicy.
  • Serve with rice, roasted veggies, or a fresh salad.
