Instructions
Step 1. Cook the Spaghetti:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
Step 2. Sauté the Garlic Shrimp:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil or melt butter.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook 1–2 minutes per side, until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Add lemon juice and optional white wine or broth. Let it bubble for 1 minute.
Step 3. Toss Pasta with Shrimp:
- Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
- If needed, add reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen the sauce.
- Stir in chopped parsley and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 4. Serve:
- Plate the pasta and top with grated parmesan and extra parsley.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
