Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti

Instructions

Step 1. Cook the Spaghetti:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.

Step 2. Sauté the Garlic Shrimp:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil or melt butter.
  • Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook 1–2 minutes per side, until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  • Add lemon juice and optional white wine or broth. Let it bubble for 1 minute.

Step 3. Toss Pasta with Shrimp:

  • Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
  • If needed, add reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen the sauce.
  • Stir in chopped parsley and adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 4. Serve:

  • Plate the pasta and top with grated parmesan and extra parsley.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
