Classic Tomato Basil Pasta
Ingredients
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- ½ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions:
- Boil pasta until al dente, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season with salt, pepper, and red chili flakes.
- Add fresh basil leaves.
- Mix pasta with the sauce and serve with Parmesan cheese.
