Step 1. Prep the Beef:
- Place sliced beef in a bowl and toss with cornstarch until evenly coated. This helps create tender meat and a glossy sauce.
Step 2. Make the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
Step 3. Sear the Beef:
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add beef in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove beef and set aside.
Step 4. Build the Sauce:
- Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 5. Combine & Finish:
- Return beef to the pan and toss to coat. Add green onions and sesame oil. Cook for 1–2 more minutes.
